Great Insurance for my springer spaniel. He had a large abcess form quickly in September, we paid the vets...but it kept coming back after a few months of antibiotics and various visits, Vet said he needed a scan and flush, he is now fully healed. Popped the documents from the vet online through the claims process and claim was paid within 8 working days. Quick, easy and no hassel!

They will try and rip you off when it comes to renewal! We have a cavachon who is now six years old and has touch wood never had any doggy health issues. We have had insurance with PetProtect since he was a puppy and I don't think we have ever made a claim. The renewal for his insurance came through on the weekend and I soon realised that they were increasing the premiums from £410 per annum to £717 per annum, an annual increase of 75%. So I hopped on a chat with them to give them a chance to explain and ideally reduce this amount. Their explanation was based on the following: 1) Inflation 2) The breed of dog 3) The age of the dog 4) Any existing conditions 5) The location we live in So in response I confirmed the following: 1) Inflation hadn't increased anywhere near 75% in the last year 2) He hadn't changed his breed in the last 12 months 3) He was six years old which wasn't a geriatric in doggy years 4) He had no existing pre-conditions 5) We are living in the same house we lived in when we first took out the insurance I can only conclude that this is a cynical attempt to rip off customers at renewal time in the hope they won't notice the price increase. I did check on the usual comparison sites and equivalent / better cover can be found for around £450-£500 per annum but without cover for any pre-existing conditions. So existing Petprotect customers - check your renewals carefully. For anyone shopping around for new pet insurance, I would add I am an example of how Petprotect treat long standing customers who have never claimed on their insurance - maybe give one of the other providers a go.

Bw aware that if you are an existing customer you may find it cheaper to start a new policy rather than renewing your existing policy. I have identical cover as a new customer 25% cheaper than my renewal quote was. This is a common insurance practice known as price walking. I raised a complaint about it but they didn't listen and treated my complaint as if I was complaining about the premium increase, not about the price walking of existing customers

Very good insurance company, my little dachshund has heart disease and requires scans frequently and medication which is very costly. My vet claims directly and all we have to do is pay our share of 20%. So pleased we took out the insurance it gives us peace of mind that when we need medical attention, 80% of the cost is sorted. Pay the claims quickly too, definitely recommend them

Not insured with our pups for long only a matter of weeks, unfortunately both of our pups decided to dig up a very old battery in the garden(obviously previous owners)Both got very sick very quickly, immediately taken to animal hospital where sedation x rays and drugs were used. Fortunately pups made a very fast recovery, The vets contacted our insurers and dealt with claim and money was in my bank within ten days, cannot argue with that Thank you pet protect
